This is me enjoying my life...
And trying to catch moments of it...
Well I have a passion for photography; so I take a lot of photo of my every day life as I just don't seem to get the time to do a lot of traveling these days. But I'm sure that will change in the future as Jude and myself want to travel again...
I have had a passion for photography for a long time first starting with film in the 70’s, and now with the digital DSLR, it has made life a lot easier in taking and viewing my photographs... I have over the years kept increasing the level of equipment I have, that is not to say that I’m any sort of expert, but I believe if the gear you have is good, well it just makes it easier for me and I can’t go blaming it for poor shots…
I started out in film with Olympus OM system, in fact I still have a couple cameras left (OM4, OM1 & OM10) with a half a dozen lenses. But I changed to Nikon in the early 90’s (N6006 SLR), then in about 2001 I got my first digital camera, a Kodak DC240, and I though WOW…. I later upgraded to a Fuji s602z, which gave a huge improvement on IQ.
But the main thing that drove me up the wall with these cameras was the shutter lag.
I finally got into DSLR’s in 2005 with a Nikon D50… This was the start of my downfall according to my wife Jude… Over the next couple of years I have accrued enough equipment to be a professional photographer… LOL… Now has all this gear made me a better photographer… Probably not, but I sure love using it all…
So over time I will be posting photos I have taken for some of my overseas friends to let them see what I've been up too and for those of you who drop by, I hope you enjoy them… BTW, you can double click on the photos to see a larger version of them...
This is my boy Maccers.....

Monarto Shoot....
A couple of weeks back, Jude and I were lucky enough to go to Monarto Zoo on a photographic shoot.
Photographic Wholesalers (Camera store in Adelaide) had arranged with some of the major Photographic Distributors, Nikon, Sony, Olympus, Canon and Pentax to showcase their equipment. Over 5 million dollars worth of cameras and lenses available for us to experiment and play with as most this gear we will only ever dream about owning. But boy was it fun… There were only 250 places available for all the budding photographers (over 1000 applied), and we were lucky enough to score an invite.
It was a great day, but boy was it HOT. I think I drank 60 gallons of water, but still we had a great day none the less. To be able to shoot the animals up close and personal, in natural habitat, with the equipment on offer, was absolutely fantastic. I've included a couple of photos I took. They also had models so that you could see how good the gear and or yourself could capture…
